EmailTest

Removal of the wooden chocks upon receipt of a new vessel, modification of piping connection on a nozzle, opening of the manway, modification of the pitch angle of GlasLock blades : any intervention on glass-lined equipment involves many potential risks of damaging the glass-lining (dropping tools, mechanical shocks, scratches, etc).
Before re-starting the production, one should check the lining in order to detect any possible damage and in that way minimise the consequences.

In order to propose a good alternative to the spark test which in itself could possibly damage the glass-lining, De Dietrich has developed a portable version of the EmailTest AZ, called Quick GlasTest AZP1, that combines sensitivity, reliability and user friendly operation.

Working principle

Operation has been simplified and reduced to the minimum :

  • Fill the vessel with a conductive solution (salted or acidified water)

  • Connect the Quick GlasTest AZP1 to the vessel earth

  • Dip the measuring probe equipped with two electrodes into the solution

  • Depress the single button of the Quick GlasTest AZP1 :
    • this checks first if the solution is conductive enough and if the earth wires are connected correctly (it will display error messages and sound alarm if not)
    • it compares the reference current flowing between the two electrodes with an eventual leak current running between these electrodes and the earth of the vessel, then calculates and displays the leak rate
    • after one minute, it switches off automatically to spare the batteries.
    That's all !...

IMPORTANT NOTICE

It is important to note that the Quick GlasTest AZP1 has been designed to carry out selective and periodical controls of the glass-lining.
Il will only indicate the condition of the glass at the moment that it is checked.
For highly corrosive processes, the permanent installation of an EmailTest AZ remains strongly advisable, because it is the only way to get the security of continuous monitoring of your equipment, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year !
